Time: [10.30 am]
Venue: (Heredity Biosciences Laboratory, Bhubaneswar )
This workshop is ideal for:
Any life sciences students (BSc, MSc, M.TECH, B.Tech etc)
To provide hands-on exposure to real-time microbial detection techniques.
To equip participants with practical knowledge of identifying common food adulterants.
To introduce the use of rapid detection tools and biosensors in the quality control of food and water.
Microbial Monitoring Techniques:
Surface & air microbial load testing using RMM tools (e.g., RODAC plates, air samplers).
Real-time monitoring using ATP bioluminescence and portable microbial sensors.
Use of selective & differential media for detection of food-borne pathogens.
Food Adulteration Detection:
Simple chemical tests for common adulterants in:
Milk (e.g., starch, detergent, water)
Spices (e.g., lead chromate in turmeric)
Sugar & Salt (e.g., washing soda, chalk powder)
Tea, coffee, oil, and honey.
Our panel of experts will give the training.
Connect with peers, experts, and organizations in the field of environmental science and biotechnology. Share ideas, discuss challenges, and explore collaborative opportunities.
